Transfers to Other Surface Impoundments
Surface impoundments include natural topographic depressions, man-made excavations and diked areas that primarily are made of earthen materials and which hold liquid wastes. These uncovered areas are commonly used to volatilize and/or settle materials. Other Surface Impoundments are surface impoundments other than those which are authorized under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) to accept hazardous waste for disposal. Data from Section 6.2, Code M67, on the TRI Form R. For reporting year 2002, these amounts were included in Section 6.2, Code M63. Prior to reporting year 2002, these transfers were included in Section 6.2, Code M72 (Transfers to Landfills/Disposal Surface Impoundments).
