Famoxadone is an oxazolidinedione fungicide. It inhibits oxidative phosphorylation in the fungal mitochondria and is highly active against spore germination and mycelial growth. Famoxadone is presently registered in the United States for food/feed uses on fruiting vegetables, crop group 8; cucurbit vegetables, crop group 9; caneberries, subgroup 13A; grapes (regional registration); potatoes; and head lettuce.
