The Health Effects Division (HED) has conducted a human health risk assessment for asulam for the purpose of making a Tolerance Reassessment Eligibility Decision. Asulam is a selective postemergent systemic, carbamate herbicide whose chemical structure and biological properties differ considerably from those of carbamate insecticides. Use sites include sugarcane (the only registered food use), Christmas tree plantings, turf (for sod only), ornamentals (junipers & yews only), and non-crop land (e.g., rights-of-way, fence rows, etc.).
