The purpose of this study was to establish effluent limitations guidelines for existing point source discharges and standards of performance and pretreatment standards for new sources.This study and subsequent proposed regulations were undertaken in fulfillment of Sections 304, 306, and 307 of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments of 1972.
