This document is the Occupational and Residential Exposure Chapter for the active ingredients Copper Naphthenate and Zinc Naphthenate, as part of the Reregistration Eligibility Decision (RED) document for the Naphthenate Salts. The Naphthenate Salts (Copper/Zinc) are carboxylates made with naphthenic acid, a natural component of petroleum. These organometallic compounds are registered as antimicrobial fungicides for control of decay, mold, rot, mildew, stain and as insecticides against certain wood-boring insects (e.g., termites, powder-post beetles and ants) in various preservative applications.
