Metal Fabrication and Finishing Proposed Cost Impacts Summary.
The proposed rule for metal fabrication and finishing area sources would establish requirements for several types of processes, including dry abrasive blasting, dry grinding and dry polishing with machines, machining, spray painting and coating, and welding operations, which use or emit any of five metal fabrication hazardous air pollutants (MFHAP): cadmium, chromium, lead, manganeses, and nickel. The affected sources also include any spray painting and coating operations which use or emit volatile organic HAP (VOHAP).
