Water Quality Assessment of Proposed Effluent Guidelines for the Pulp, Ppaer, and Paperboard Industry.
The U.S. Environemntal Protection Agency (EPA) is developing revised effluent guidelines and "maximum achievable control technology" (MACT) standards for the pulp, paper, and paperboard industry. These proposed regulations would limit the discharge of pollutants into navigable waters of the United States and the introduction of pollutants into publicly owned treatment works by existing and new facilities that produce pulp, paper, and paperboard.
