This document identifies technologies that might be used by community water systems in achieving compliance with the National Primary Drinking Water Regulations. The technologies that are available to a community searching for the most economical and effective means to comply with the barium Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) include modification of existing treatment systems, installation of new systems, and may include the selection of other water sources such as bottled water or alternative raw water sources.
