Benefits And Costs Of Prevention: Case Studies Of Community Wellhead Protection, Volume 1.
The benefits of avoiding contamination of community drinking water sources are greater than the costs of implementing a local prevention program for wellhead protection. This analysis of seven communities shows that, on average, dealing with contamination of their ground water supply may be 30 to 40 times more costly than to prevent it in the first place.
