Economic Criteria For Relocation.
The Environmental Protection Agency is responsible for development of criteria for protection of the public from radiation resulting from nuclear incidents and accidents. These criteria are referred to as protective action guide (PAGs). One consideration in the development of PAGs is the cost of implementing protective actions.
This report provides background information on the social cost of relocating households away from areas contaminated as a result of a release of radioactive particulate material to the atmosphere from an accident at a nuclear power plant. Results of the analyses presented herein were used in the development of PAGs for relocation.
