Regulatory Impact Analysis For New Source Performance Standards: Industrial- Commercial- Institutional Steam Generating Units Of Greater Than 100 Million Btu/Hour Heat Input.
powered by
This document summarizes the environmental, economic, and cost analyses that were conducted to support the development of new source performance standards limiting emissions of SO2 from industrial-commercial-institutional steam generating units. Alternative SO2 control technologies and regulatory options are analyzed in terms of SO2 emission reduction capability, costs of control, secondary environmental impacts, national impacts, and industry-specific economic impacts. In addition, the impacts of allowing emission credits for cogeneration and mixed fuel-fired steam generating units are discussed. This document is intended to serve as an overview of the analyses and regulatory alternatives considered during the standards development process.
