An analysis was made of the potential economic impact on the insulation fiberglass industry due to the implementation of the effluent limitations standards formulated in compliance with the 1972 Federal Water Pollution Control Act Amendments.
The capital costs of meeting the "Best Practicable Technology" and "Best Available Technology" provisions of the standards are estimated to be $10 million. Annualized effluent treatment costs are $3.1 million The industry is not expected to suffer major adverse impacts as measured by loss of production, unfavorable price structure, employment curtailment, etc.
