This report presents the results of analysis in which a market model was used to analyze the impacts of the proposed rule on society. No other regulatory options were included in the analysis.
The EPA is proposing regulations under Section 112 of the CAA for new stationary combustion turbines. The majority of these turbines burn natural gas and are used in the electric power and natural gas industries. The proposed regulations are designed to reduce emissions of HAPs generated by the combustion of fossil fuels in combustion turbines. The primary HAPs emitted include formaldehyde, acetaldehyde, toluene, and benzene.
