On January 15, 2003, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants (NESHAP) for surface coating of metal cans (68 FR 2110) under authority of Section 112 of the Clean Air Act (Act). This summary is the basis for the revisions made to the standards between proposal and promulgation.
