This report evaluates the economic impacts of the proposed NESHAP for melting furnace; scrap preheating; pouring, cooling and shakeout (PCS); mold and core coating; and mold and core making operations at iron foundries. The social costs of the rule are estimated by incorporating the expected costs of compliance to a partial equilibrium model of the U.S. iron and steel industry and projecting the market impacts for iron and steel castings and related products. The report also provide the screening analysis for small business impacts.
